Eric N. Ortiz, Esq.

​The New Mexico law office of Eric N. Ortiz Esq. is headed by Eric N. Ortiz. He is a lifetime resident of New Mexico and is proud to serve his fellow New Mexicans in the areas of complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, general civil litigation (including personal injury) and family law. Eric holds a B.A. from the University of New Mexico and a J.D. from UNM School of Law (which institution conferred on Eric the Fred Hart Award for Excellence in Commercial Law). He is an active member of the New Mexico State Bar, the US Federal Bar and the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association.

Eric worked for several law firms before starting his own firm in 2012. Before attending law school, Eric worked as a law clerk for Rusch D. Gathings, a successful criminal and personal injury attorney. Through law school, Eric obtained significant experience in the arenas of commercial litigation, probate law and bankruptcy as a clerk for Jennie Behles. When he was admitted to the bar, Eric became an associate at the Behles law firm. He then went on to become a junior partner and managing attorney at Affordable Law P.C. There he honed his skills in complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy, while developing an interest in personal injury and family law.

In the Ortiz Law Firm, Eric is able to continue to pursue his interest in diverse aspects of the law and use his considerable expertise and energy to help his clients settle their claims quickly and successfully.

Monica Davis

Monica Davis is a New Mexico Attorney with extensive experience in probate, probate litigation, will and trust disputes, will and trust litigation, and tax law. She is focused on all simple probate and contested probate matters. No matter your needs, during the challenges that arise after the loss of a loved one, Ms. Davis is able to provide compassionate and high quality representation making the legal process as simple for her clients as possible during a difficult time in their life. Ms. Davis is also well versed and highly experienced in contested estates; this means that if you find yourself in a position where someone is challenging a will, trust or transfer of property and you disagree with them, or if there is a will, trust or transfer of property that you think is inappropriate and would like to challenge, Ms. Davis has the knowledge and experience to obtain the best possible results for her clients in such a situation.

Ms. Davis also has significant educational and work experience in tax law, foreclosure defense and personal injury and can assist clients in a variety of ways in these areas.

A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a graduate of Albuquerque Academy, Ms. Davis went on to study law at the University of New Mexico and obtained her JD from there in 2013 and began practicing law at that time. While working as an attorney she continued her educational journey studying tax law, obtaining an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University in 2016.
